Equality Statement
Folksworth Pre School recognises that some children and families are treated unequally
within the world for lots of different reasons; perhaps because of the language they speak,
who makes up their family, how they behave, the colour of their skin, their financial status
or even where they live.
WE Believe whole heartedly that this is wrong and aim to ensure that all families who visit
and use our Preschool will feel equally welcomed, valued and accepted with in our
Pre School community.
We aim to challenge any form of discrimination within our Pre School community and have
policies in place to support our work. We use age-appropriate books and resources to help
our children see the beauty this diversity brings to our lives.
These are a sample of the resources we use:

Being me in Penguin Land children’s stories.
These help us to provide a gentle introduction to gender diversity. There are three in the set, describing the experiences of a boy penguin, girl penguin and a non-binary penguin.
And Tango Makes Three.
'And Tango Makes Three' tells the story of two male penguins
raising a baby chick in Central Park zoo.

It's a No Money Day.
A gentle, poignant, and powerful exploration of foodbanks and life below the poverty line.
The Great Big Book of Families.
This book is a celebration of the family in all its wonderful diversity.
